Repel Mosquitoes All Summer Long By Taking This Vitamin

Mosquito repellents have been present on the market since 1956, however, DEET is the most common active ingredient in insect repellents, which can have pretty serious side-effects on some individuals. If you belong to this group of people, taking vitamin B1 is the right thing for you.

Vitamin B1 is also known as thiamine, is an important mineral for the body. It plays an important role in boosting immunity and fighting stress. It is usually found in foods like brown rice, eggs, oatmeal, liver, yeast, asparagus, and kale.

You do not have to worry if you take too much of it, because any excess gets eliminated through urination, just like with any other water-soluble vitamin.

When speaking about the relation between mosquitoes and Vitamin B1, it is important to mention that it changes your smell and makes it unappealing for the mosquitoes. This Vitamin does not change the way you smell to other people.

According to some recent researches, you should definitely try it, because it is all-natural and has no adverse effects. Additionally, people who are experiencing gastric bypass, chronic alcoholism, anorexia, and Crohn's disease, should take B1 supplements, because these conditions lower its levels in the body.

In order to keep mosquitoes at bay, you can either take B1 supplements or make your own mosquito repellent. If you go for the first option, take 100 mg of thiamine on a daily basis. In case you choose the second, here is the recipe:
